BU Radio Production course celebrates 15th birthday
成人直播 has organised a series of lectures on聽Wednesday 22 April聽2015聽to celebrate the 15th birthday of its MA Radio Production course.
Britain鈥檚 first Professor of Radio and founder of the MA course Se谩n Street will give a talk, discussing his book 聽'The Poetry of Radio - The Colour of Sound' 聽A big believer in the potential of sound as a poetic medium, Se谩n will use his considerable experience as a writer, poet and broadcaster to discuss how to unlock new ways of seeing and making in radio production.
At 1pm the same day, Emeritus Professor Andrew Crisell will talk about how comedy on British radio became radio comedy. By providing a historical perspective, his presentation will illustrate how radiogenic comedy plays with the positive and negative aspects of the medium鈥檚 blindness 鈥� unleashing or thwarting the listener鈥檚 imagination in the process.
Jo Tyler, Programme Co-Ordinator on the MA Radio Production course, said, " has developed as a radio lab for our MA and BA students in Radio and Media Production, this week we showcase a range of new ideas and output that is the tip of the iceberg of what these future thinking producers will take into industry with them.
"It is a聽real privilege to be able to have the聽originator of the MA聽Radio Production聽course, Emeritus Professor Sean Street, return to BU to share his new work with the students who now include BA (Hons) Radio. Sean has inspired many of the lecturers and alumni students working in industry and continues to develop resources for the medium."
Special interviews will be hosted on from 2pm on Friday 24th April, with the MA-run radio station continuing its remit of providing innovative, thought-provoking and award-winning Internet radio on demand.
