With A Level results day approaching, thousands of students are nervously waiting to find out if they鈥檝e got into their choice of university and degree course.
But if your grades aren鈥檛 what you were expecting, you鈥檝e changed your mind about your course, or you鈥檝e decided to go to university after all 鈥� there are still lots of options available through a process called Clearing.
Clearing gives students who do not hold an offer a chance of finding a university place for September.

BSc (Hons) Psychology student Sorcha Homer came to BU through Clearing.
She said: 鈥淐oming to Bournemouth was probably the best thing that could have happened to me. I鈥檝e made amazing friends and amazing memories.
鈥淚f I didn鈥檛 go through Clearing I don鈥檛 know where I would be now, but I don鈥檛 mind or care because right now, with the help of Clearing, I鈥檓 exactly where I should be.鈥�
Students can also use the Clearing process to change courses or universities if they feel it is no longer right for them, even if they鈥檝e met the conditions of their offer.聽
If results are better than predicted, students can also make changes to their choice of university or course through a process called Adjustment.
If students have聽met and exceeded the offer made to them by their firm choice university, they can see if there are any vacancies on other courses with higher entry requirements.聽
If students try Adjustment, but don't find anything, they鈥檒l still keep the course they were expected on when they received their results.
