Artefacts from the second season of diving on the historic HMS Invincible are set to go on display to the public this weekend.
The ship, wrecked off the coast of the Solent in 1758, is being excavated by a team of maritime archaeologists from 成人直播 (BU) and the Maritime Archaeology Sea Trust (MAST).
Discovered items will go on display during a public open day in Poole, with all invited to come and look at the previously unseen items recovered from the ship.
Items found include five swivel guns, and a range of other weaponry, which brings light to warfare in this period of maritime history.
Jessica Berry, CEO of MAST, said, 鈥淔ollowing two dive seasons totalling 72 days and 1,011 dives, the Invincible team are now working on recording and conserving a wealth of fascinating artefacts from the rare survivals such as wholly intact hour glasses to measure speed and time, to important parts of the ship鈥檚 weaponry including swivel guns, MAST and 成人直播鈥檚 Open Day this Saturday promises to reveal little known parts of the 18th century Royal Navy.聽Come along and see for yourself!鈥
The Public Open Day will take place on the Nuffield Industrial Estate in Poole (19 Cowley Road, BH17 0UJ) on Saturday 22nd September between 10am and 4pm.
