Simon Prentice studied BSc (Hons) Marketing and gave his advice on how to stay motivated during your final year after coming back from placement. Simon’s tips include organisational skills, exercise and your attitude.
"You will have developed good organisational skills during your placement year that will help you during your studies. I found that structuring my days as I would at work helped me to be more efficient, especially when a deadline was looming. It also helped to make a clear distinction between when I was working and relaxing. I really advocate making time for regular exercise within your schedule - exercise will make you feel better during stressful periods.
"Your attitude is really important, approaching all assignments and exams with a positive outlook helps you to do the best you can and get the results you want. I also found it helpful to think about my future career goals to motivate me. Having a taste of where my career might go on placement made me work harder to get to where I want to be.
"Above all, try to take advantage of all the opportunities you have in your final year and enjoy yourself. You only have one more year at uni, so make the most of it!"
