BU’s Chaplaincy has been providing staff and students with an incredibly valuable service, supporting individuals’ health and wellbeing, for many years.
As part of our commitment to constantly review our services to ensure they meet the needs of those engaging with them, and in response to feedback from staff and students it was decided the name ‘Chaplaincy’ didn’t reflect the wide range of services on offer. People saw the Chaplaincy as a place only for those with strong religious beliefs rather a place for reflection. We believe the new name ‘Faith & Reflection’ better represents our vibrant and inclusive community along with the guidance and support available.
Faith & Reflection offers a welcoming environment for staff and students of all backgrounds, regardless of faith or beliefs. There is an open door policy and the space is accessible all year round, including out of term time. It provides somewhere calm to talk about life and make sense of our surroundings.
At the BU Faith & Reflection space on Talbot Campus there is a real sense of community and the kettle is always on! You’ll also find an Islamic Prayer Room with wash facilities, a Kosher kitchen, a bookable meeting room and a quiet room, along with a place where you can:
- talk to a Chaplain in confidence about personal matters
- be put in touch with local faith communities and places of worship
- explore the concept of religious faith
- join a group for prayer, study or fellowship
- ask questions about life issues.
We also run events and activities throughout the year including a Global Café for international students every Wednesday during term-time in the Fusion Café, Talbot Campus.
Come and meet the team, have a cup of tea and find out more about Faith & Reflection.
