Find out about the changes to your assessments and exams, how you can submit exceptional circumstances related to Covid-19, and the deadline extension for choosing your option units.
Assessments and exams
We are now providing online teaching, wherever possible, and we will not be conducting any assessment that requires students to be on campus from now until the end of August 2020.Â
Programme teams have been reviewing planned teaching and assessment for all units, and considering any changes that will be required, to ensure that all assessment is aligned with online teaching delivery, and that students can still achieve the learning outcomes for their programme. Â
Some changes will be necessary to planned assessments and these are being announced on the Programme area of  from last Friday, 27 March 2020. This information in Brightspace will let you know how your assessments may be changing and any alterations to the assessment schedule. Further details of changes relating to individual units will also be provided, as appropriate, as soon as possible.
Exceptional Circumstances
If you feel that your assessments have been impacted by circumstances relating to COVID-1, we have introduced a specific Exceptional Circumstances form and we have extended the self-certification period from 5 to 14 days. Please read the full guidance, including FAQs and specific forms, on the Exceptional Circumstances web page to give you more information about this.
Option units
If your course offers option units for the 2020/21 academic year, the deadline has been extended, to ensure that you have suitable time to choose your units under the current circumstances. The unit selection function in myHub will now be open until midday on Friday 3 April. When you , you'll find an online instructional video to help guide you through the process.
To help you decide what to study you can read up on your option unit descriptions in the Programme Handbook for your course via . If you’re unable to access your Programme Handbook please contact your programme support team, whose details should be in your faculty area of Brightspace.
