BU business studies graduate, Jennifer Davidson, has been named as one of the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders in a nationwide poll.
Jennifer, who is Founder and Managing Director of events agency Sleek, has been included in the list published by private equity firm LDC and supported by The Telegraph. The campaign is designed to celebrate the inspiring leaders behind some of the UK’s most successful and fast-growing medium-sized firms.
Since launching in 2015, Jennifer has grown and built Sleek into an award-winning agency which has been recognised as one of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies.
Jennifer’s inclusion in the top 50 list recognises the steps she has taken in 2020 to help both her and the agency develop, including completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK 2020 programme, implementing a Senior Leadership Team and undergoing a company rebrand. She said: “This year more than ever, being named as one of LDC’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders is an incredible achievement that I am honoured to be a part of. We have certainly had a year where life has given us lemons and we have turned them into lemonade.
“Even though it has not been the year that we expected, it’s allowed me to take a step back and focus only on things that we can control. This has led to us having many internal business successes, including rebranding, being awarded Investors in People, improving and streamlining business processes as well as laying foundations for future growth. Being able to stop and have a chance to assess and plan business strategies is not an opportunity we have had before, we have truly made the most out of it and look forward to coming back stronger than before.”
John Garner of LDC - a mid-market private equity firm backed by Lloyds Banking Group - added: “The UK has a long-standing reputation for its entrepreneurial endeavour, but there has never been a more important time to recognise or back ambition in British business. The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders aims to do just that. All of the inspiring leaders featured in our Top 50 this year have driven their business forward during a period of adversity, whether by expanding internationally, delivering real innovation, showcasing resilience or making a difference in their communities. They all deserve their place and I look forward to seeing their continued success.”
