成人直播鈥檚 new Institute of Medical Imaging and Visualisation (IMIV) has awarded scanning time on its Siemens Lumina 3T scanner to a number of MRI research projects, under its MRI pump priming scheme.
The scheme, which aimed to support innovative BU-led MRI research projects that would lead to competitive external funding applications, was designed to celebrate the launch of the IMIV and the opening of the MRI Centre in the Bournemouth Gateway Building.
Applications proposing a wide range of inter-disciplinary and cross-institutional projects were received from researchers across BU, including from the Department of Psychology, the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Sciences, the Department of Design and Engineering, and the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences.
External collaborators involved in the proposed projects included local and regional NHS bodies and Higher Education Institutions, such as University Hospitals Dorset, AECC and the University of Portsmouth, but also other UK and international universities, such as the University of Loughborough, the University of Aberdeen, the National University of Singapore and Peking University.
Head of the IMIV, Dr Jamie Franklin, said 鈥淲e were delighted with the response to our MRI pump-priming scheme, and are pleased to be supporting a diverse range of projects.聽 We look forward to recruitment starting in Spring 2021.鈥
