Emily Burridge (cello) 'All trees are clocks' performanceProfessor Adrian Newton from 成人直播鈥檚 Department of Life and Environmental Sciences聽will be hosting a performance, 鈥樷�� at Dorchester Arts Centre on Sunday 21 April at 2:30pm. The performance aims to evoke an emotional, personal reaction from audience members to changes in our ecosystems, using visuals and music. It will feature sound and video recordings created at 成人直播鈥檚 research site in the ancient woodlands of the New Forest National Park.
This performance is supported by a grant 成人直播 received from the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) to strengthen public engagement and scientific research projects.
Professor Adrian Newton said: 鈥淔or many people, climate change is something remote that doesn鈥檛 affect them personally. Through this piece, we aimed to help people appreciate how places on their doorstep, which they love to visit, are already changing profoundly. The use of music together with natural sound and video will hopefully help people connect emotionally with what is happening, and how very special places are being transformed by climate change.鈥�
Karen Wimhurst (clarinet) 'All trees are clocks' performance鈥樷�� was developed by providing musicians Emily Burridge (cello) and Karen Wimhurst (clarinet) with field recordings collected in ancient woodlands throughout the year. They composed a piece of music in response to the sound of changing seasons, and the ecological changes that are taking place.
