You are invited to apply to the programme where you can showcase your project which addresses a solution to a key challenge of our time.
Last year, BU Product Design Futures graduate, Angela Piazza鈥檚 project was among 100 selected for the Prototypes for Humanity exhibition. Angela's聽final project which provided a solution to waste and inequality was displayed at the COP28 climate conference in Dubai.聽

Who can participate?
Students and recent graduates of any undergraduate or postgraduate course are welcome to apply. Graduates who gained their qualification no more than two years ago are also eligible to participate. Applications can be submitted either by the student/graduate or聽by the professor who聽is supervising the project, on聽behalf of the student/graduate.
Evaluation criteria:
The criteria serve聽as the basis for the evaluation and are聽used by the jurors to evaluate all aspects of each entry.
Positive impact on people, communities or the planet聽
Whether addressing social issues, environmental concerns, or community development, the potential positive influence of each project will be a crucial factor.
Rigour of academic research
Prototypes for Humanity are looking for聽projects that demonstrate a deep understanding of the challenges addressed, identify pertinent issues, and deliver comprehensive research.
Application of technology聽
Technological integration聽will be a significant聽consideration. Whether incorporating cutting-edge advancements or utilising simple yet efficient solutions, the effective leveraging of technology is crucial for your project鈥檚 success.
How do I apply?
Applicants are required to submit the with personal and academic information. Summarise in at least 200 words the problem your project addresses and explain what it does and the technology behind it. Upload a PDF with detailed information to further explain your project. Supporting digital media including images, diagrams and videos can also be submitted.
