1. Tourism Authority of Thailand plans to partner with BU

   A delegation from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) came to BU on 12 March to discuss developing a partnership with our School of Tourism that will benefit staff, students and TAT.

2. BU research incorporated in new National Constitution for Local Disaster Management Committees in Sierra Leone

   The findings and methodology of a disaster management research project conducted by BU experts has been incorporated into a national disaster management constitution in Sierra Leone.

3. Thank you to our alumni volunteers

   Members of BU’s alumni community gave more than 1,200 hours of volunteering over the past academic year.

4. ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ retains Teaching Excellence Framework Silver

   ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ has retained its Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.

5. BU’s Dr Andrew Mayers in Parliament to promote better perinatal mental health services

   Dr Mayers attended as part of the 1001 Critical Days All Party Parliamentary Group to discuss maternal mental health 

6. BU student wins 2017 ‘Student Star of the Future’ Rock Star Award

   This year's Rock Star Awards saw BU student Iain Christian win ‘Student Star of the Future.’

7. BU experts take part in science showcase at British Library

   ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ scientists will be taking part in the British Library’s WISE Festival.

8. BU hosts local school children to celebrate reading and stories

   BU has hosted a Books and Stories Celebration for local school children to celebrate completing a 10-week reading scheme.

9. BU Television Production student wins first prize in Bill Vinten GTC Awards 2019

   Mylinh To was awarded first prize for her cinematography in a project called Firing Line - The Coward and has won a year's paid internship on a drama production. 

10. BU's Dr Andy Mayers gives evidence as part of the Public Inquiry into Birth Trauma

    Dr Mayers shared his research and expertise around the impact of birth trauma on fathers and partners.
