Leadership team

I am Head of Department for Midwifery and Health Sciences, and also Lead Midwife for Education. My main teaching interests are in evidence based practice and infant feeding. My research largely involves teaching and learning around health, from school children though to heathcare students at 鈥�

Dr Alison Taylor is Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme in the Department of Midwifery and Health Sciences in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at 成人直播. In 2019, Alison was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Ursula is the Principal Academic in Emergency Care, Deputy Head of Department of Midwifery and Health Sciences and the Academic Lead for Practice Simulation for Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. She has previous clinical and teaching experience within the NHS and the voluntary sector in the 鈥�

I am trained as a medical sociologist and I have an interest in mixed-methods research, qualitative research and evaluation research. A large share of my academic work has been in the fields of Public Health, Health Promotion and the Organisation of Maternity Care. I have substantial research 鈥�

I am a registered midwife and a Professor in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. I have enjoyed a longstanding career that has combined education, research and practice. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Midwives and a National Teaching Fellow (AdvancedHE). I am passionate about 鈥�

Dr Debora Almeida joined 成人直播 in 2017 as a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice (ODP) following a clinical, academic and managerial career in general hospitals, private clinics, surgical units and higher education in the South of Brazil.

Iain Darby - Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science

Iain joined Royal Berkshire Ambulance Service in 2000 as an ambulance technician. After completion of the IHCD Paramedic award he went on to become a registered Paramedic in 2005. Iain has worked in a number of different roles, with both Royal Berkshire and South Central Ambulance Services, 鈥�

Peter is lecturer in Paramedic Science. He has been a Paramedic since 2008, working in London and Dorset, and currently practices as an Emergency Care Practitioner in urgent care. Peter is currently undertaking a PhD looking at psychological resilience in newly qualified Paramedics using a 鈥�

I have been a registered midwife since 1986 mainly working at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital midwifery led unit from 1992 - 2004. Working in a midwife led unit resulted in a reappraisal of my philosophy of midwifery and consequently I have a keen interest in facilitating normal birth. Due to 鈥�

I have had a long and varied career in hospital, community and independent clinical midwifery in the UK and in South Africa. This has invariably been combined with both formal and informal teaching in clinical and academic settings. Along the way, I was a Principal Investigator on an influential 鈥�

I taught English As A Foreign Language for 16 years, before qualifying as a midwife at the age of 40. I promised myself 10 years' front line midwifery, so I slept with a mobile phone for 8 of them as an on-call caseload midwife. I gained an MSc .in Advanced Clinical Practice whilst working on 鈥�
