Each year, colleges participating in the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society for two-year schools can choose up to four nominees for the PTK All-Minnesota Academic Team; two students from the Transfer Pathway and two from the Workforce Pathway. This year three students were nominated to represent Alexandria College on the team:
49 students were chosen from participating Minnesota colleges this year to be members of this year's All-Minnesota Academic Team. After reviewing the lengthy applications submitted by students, campus nominators chose students for inclusion on the Team. Nomination to the team puts students in competition for more than $500,000 in national scholarship opportunities.
Phi Theta Kappa historically holds a Celebration Event in the spring to recognize the nominees. This year it was held on Zoom due to COVID-19 restrictions. On April 16, PTK Advisors Jessica Wade-Ferrell and Carly Erickson held a celebratory lunch for the students and watched the recognition event with the students and their guests, along with the student's advisors and college administrators.
The students who comprise the All-Minnesota Academic Team represent some of the best in Minnesota higher education and are excited to recognize their achievements.
Each student received a $500 scholarship provided by the Alexandria College Foundation. Local businesses and individuals can choose to support PTK All-Minnesota Academic Team nominees with their Foundation gift.
