Check our step-by-step guide for how to log your attendance during lectures:
- Bring a smartphone, tablet or laptop to class.
- Get your device ready as soon as you come into class – switch on and connect to the internet/BU Wi-Fi.
- At some point during the session, staff will give you a 6-digit code specific to that teaching session.
- Go to the Jisc attendance system at ;
- For quick access, we recommend adding this link in advance as a shortcut or bookmark on your smartphone, tablet or laptop. The link to the Jisc attendance system may also be provided as a reminder in the session, this will be in the form of a QR code or web address.
- Click Log in, enter your BU email address, and when prompted enter your BU username and password.
- Enter the 6-digit code and click Check in.
​If you have difficulty getting onto the Wi-Fi, accessing the Jisc attendance system or entering the code, please report the issue to IT (Ìý´Ç°ùÌýcall onÌý(01202) 965515 or freephone 0808 196 2332).
Tell your Programme Team if you don’t have a smartphone, tablet or laptop you can use to log attendance.
Sometimes in smaller groups, staff may log your attendance themselves by taking a register.

FAQ for attendance at teaching sessions
Some of this information will be different for students on programmes with stricter engagement requirements set by external bodies – this includes students on apprenticeship programmes and students on Health & Social Care professional registration programmes. These additional requirements will be communicated through your programme team.
