Abbie developed a passion for clinical psychology during her undergraduate degree and has since forged a career in the field within the NHS.

Her roles to date have included delivering therapeutic and occupational therapy activities at a specialist inpatient psychosis unit, completing聽post graduate study in Cognitive Behavioural Interventions, and studying and working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Alongside her clinical work, Abbie has been part of a longitudinal research project at Kings College London investigating the treatment of psychosis symptoms; contributing to data analysis and upcoming journal publications.

Amidst the challenges faced by the NHS throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Abbie has worked as an Assistant Psychologist within a secondary care psychological therapies service, providing individual and group therapy to those with complex and enduring mental health issues.

Abbie says: 鈥淪ince graduating in 2017 my work experience and professional development has led me to successfully achieve my goal of obtaining a place on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programme this year, meaning I will become a qualified Clinical Psychologist before my 30th birthday!鈥
