Laura qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in August 2020 and went on to work at an inpatient child and adolescent mental health ward.
During her time there, she completed the Early Career Nurse Leadership programme with The Florence Nightingale Foundation which included taking part in a session with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for Leadership. She has made the most of other CPD opportunities and has progressed to become a Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner, responsible for developing new roles and services.聽
Laura says: 鈥淲ithin this role, I have found a further passion for supporting people requiring immediate support and seeking a safe place to voice what they鈥檙e currently going through. People would leave the service after having spoken to someone, seeming lighter and brighter. I may not have taken their problems away but supporting them through finding solutions and offering advice can make such a difference.鈥
